About Debbie
I am passionate about helping parents raise independent, resilient, healthy and socially successful children. I know this isn’t always easy for parents — especially those with anxious or neurodivergent kids. Do It Parenting is here to help!
After earning my bachelors degree in Psychology and a masters degree in School Counseling from the University of Rochester, I spent 3 years as a middle school counselor near Boston. I then returned to graduate school to obtain a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University. My work as a therapist focused a great deal on couples and families.
The year our first daughter was born, my husband and I opened Camp Akeela, which we’ve been running ever since. A big part of my role there is coaching parents throughout their kids’ childhood and adolescent years. Do It Parenting is an extension of that work: a chance to share what I’ve learned with even more families. Schedule a free introductory call with me to see if my coaching is a good fit for you!
